Only reason I bought a secondary Blanton's was to have the bottle. Outside of that it wasnt worth the chase. EC was better. The only 2 bottles im chasing is EHT BiB and Stagg.

Old Fitz cannot be found at retail, and even their lowest offerings go for insane prices. Why is that? What happened in the last 5-7 years that caused whiskey prices to skyrocket?

You mentioned the low proof Benchmark, which I assume is Old No 8? The 86 proof Top Floor bottle isn’t too bad at all.

Never found it for srp! I have found it for $200. I have bought it. It was worth it. BUT...... i have found Blantons for 150 and that was excellent as well.

Okay the 12yr batch 2 is just Great. I get cherry , caramel, brown sugar and ends nicely with a spice that lasts. The batch 1 I tasted more of a fruit/ raisin/ cherry on the lips that lasted. Batch 1 was spectacular. One of the best!

I got this bottle a couple months ago and I love it. Great bottle for the price IMO.

Finally found one yesterday and damn is it a great bottle. Mine is 109.4 proof and the sweet transfers to the palate and blends nicely with the spice. Very complex start to finish and the finish goes on forever.

I agree. I have both Evan Williams and the Old Forrester 100 and Jim Beam, which is nostalgic for me. I also have a few more expensive bottles that family members are part of the production of that I keep on hand, but would stick with the list you gave otherwise. Thank you.

Ill save the money and buy rebel 6 year 100 proof which is heaven hill juice. Is it as good not quite but at 40 bucks vs few hundred wanted for old fits im good with it.

Cask strength is good only if it’s done right. I’ve had plenty of cask strength stuff that’s way too hot, and was probably done to “satisfy” the whiskey nerds. I’ve had 95 proof products that taste way richer than cask strength. Personally, 100-110 proof is a great sweet spot for a neat pour

You can't even find Weller Full Proof in upstate NY, maybe single barrel (if you're the luckiest person that day) @ $150, online the cheapest I can find Weller Full Proof is $189.99. What's amazing to me is that it is being compared to a $41.99 Maker's Mark Cask Strength. You just can't beat this price on any cask strength (except Old Grand Dad 114 @ $26.99) and its quite tasty!

Higher proof whiskeys are usually more flavorful. However, some are better at lower proof. I like Old Forester bourbons in the 100-115 range compared to their 130+ proof bourbons.
